Hello steemians,
Hope everybody is doing well.
I would like to share the fun and experiences I had in promoting steemit around my community on the 1st December 2017.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN....
It all began when @anaman ideally created a whats-app group for steemians from kumasi. The ideal coming to pass, we used to have our normal chat about steemit. We got to know that our number in kumasi was too small so we decided to pick a day and a place for the promo.
There were so many suggestion as to the day for the promo and the place.we came to a conclusion that if students get to know more about what steemit has been offering, it will help grow our numbers and also the steemit platform at large.
We draw a road map of the universities and colleges in kumasi and the region at large.We found out that there were 15 universities and 5 colleges so we decided to start with the closer one,which was "THE KWAME NKURMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY."
Since each one was working and I myself been a teacher we decided to use the 1st of December which was a pubic holiday.
ON THAT SPECIAL DAY
I always recall that day, a special day because that was my first official promotion for steemit .I met @collinz at a convenient spot,then we board a car whiles @anaman , @mcsamm and the only sweet lady in our team @jeenandme had arrive early and was waiting. We manage to get there on time.

Student were about to write their end of "seem" so they were busy learning.We had the chance of meeting most of the them.
We had a little discussion about how to go about things and during the discussion @anaman gave alot of helping contributions.
To most of them,it was a surprise, and had doubt about how steemit works.We had to give further explanations, by showing them our accounts and what we have been earning on the post we make.
Some had left their numbers so we decided to call them for further discussions.
We wished to talk to more student but due to their on coming exams we schedule to meet them again when the new semester begins.
we managed to talk to various of them...
THE ROAD MAP AND WAY FORWARD
We are planning to build a solid team by bringing 100 new steemians and also promote steemit in every part and promotable place in kumasi and Ashanti region at large.We have planned to visit at least 10 universities and 3 colleges before the middle of 2018.

You guys really nailed it at KNUST. I think we need more of such campaigns in all the universities and we need to do this quick by next year. For me, I have made it part of my new year resolution

You guys are doing great works. We need to get reps at every university to help promote steemit locally in Ghana. That will be discussed and should form part of our future plans. You guys are a blessing to mother Ghana

and this is what we really are working towards....even getting reps for the various regions to help deall with all steemit relating issues throught the country...We really hope that very soon steemit/sbd will be the talk on almost all social media within the country...am so much glad the see the support of amazing people like you @kwabkesseh .good to follow you for more

It is always dangerous to just promote Steemit purely focused on "Blog, Post, Earn" though.
There are many who jump at it with a greedy mindset instead of the mindset we're looking.
Although promoting it is always good, so thank you for your work!
