Hello everyone, I welcome you all to my blog again today.
Thank you for always being part of my success story on steemit.
Last week, I treated a series where I was able to suggest solutions to our farming sector in Africa, especially in Nigeria.
With the new initiative to send the youths to the farm to improve our farming sector, we were able to point out basic things that must be in place before we allow such an initiative to materialized
I'm starting another series today, I hope it help you in one way or the other, this message might not be for all, but the few that can take this opportunity with open arms would be able to see the beauty of it in a matter of a few year.
Now that we know that their is no white collar job for the common man in Nigeria, we all need to tap into our initiative for our sustainance.
A lot of us have accepted that fate, but we still don't know what we can do with our hands that can make us to compete with our counterparts who are able to secure the so called white collar job.
Actually, I don't know how long this series will last, but I promise to give you the best base on my experience and researches before and during the course of this series.
I would like to start with CASH CROPS.
Cash crops are crops we plant for making money, having this in mind, I would bring some of the world best cash crops to our attention, if we can invest in them, their is no doubt in us swimming in real money in just a few years to now.
I won't write this as an educational articles, I will write it in such a way that anybody would be able to understand it.
Today, we shall be talking about OIL PALM TREEE.
That name does not need any special introduction before we can all picture what oil palm is.
This plant is one of the earliest plants planted by our forefathers, it is planted for many of the benefits derived from it.
Nothing at all is a waist from this wonderful plant.
Nigeria economy depends largely on this wonder crop and other cash crops prior to the time of oil boom, but we take little or no attention towards it and other crops since the inception of oil boom.
Currently, Nigeria is contributing 7% of world total oil palm production, this is a very good statistics for anybody who does not know that we can be the world leading producer based on the suitability of our land to this wonder crop
Oil palm is a tropical plant, and Nigeria is such a wonderful place to grow it.
Why do you need to invest in the production of this wonder crop is the topic of today, I wouldn't like us to deviate from it. So, let's get into the business.
Oil palm belong to the family Elaeis guineensis which is a tropical farm.
It reaches maturity in 3-4 years of planting
It can be productive for up to 40 years
Palm fruits take about 5 months from pollination to maturity
It can flower round the year no matter the season.
Those are some of the beauty of planting this wonder plant, but in lay man language now.
Currently, the price of a liter of gasoline (petrol) as commonly know in Nigeria is #145 and that of palm oil is #500
Why do I have to bring gasoline into discussion? Well, it is because we bid palm oil and other cash crop goodbye because of oil boom, so I would like us to see if it worth it or not by comparing and contrasting the two
Just an acre of land is enough to give you millions of naira every year if you engage in the planting of oil palm
Let's take some statistics,
1 acre of land would produce 2,935 liters of oil every year.
And if each liter worth #500.
2935 liters multiply by #500 would give you #1,467,500. (one million, four hundred and sixty seven thousand, fivd hundred naira)
Now for petrol or gasoline
2935 liters multiply by #145 is equal to #425,575. (four hundred and twenty five thousand, five hundred and decent five)
Now let's take away this figure from that of palm oil.
#1,467,500 - 425,575 = 1,041,928
Can you see the massive difference between the two of them. (one million, forty one thousand, nine hundred and twenty eight naira.
I don't know the best way to present this idea to you for you to understand, but I would like you to capture it. From that monetary explanation.
All you need is land and viable seedlings which you can get from Nigeria institutes of oil research (NIFOR), plant it today and watch yourself become a millionaire in 4 or 5 years time.
I remain @emmakkayluv and I love you all

Thank you very much. I think we have a real dumb government not to think in this direction. A pity to us anyway.
Hahahaha, they knew but they chose not to go that way... Our destiny is in our hands, we can always do something about it not minding the lazy set of governments.
Thats a very good idea...Thanks for the insight.
Any time bro...
