It’s Okay to Take a Break from the Bustle and Hustle of Life

in #proofofbrain7 months ago

Hey fren. I hope you’re doing well. I’m doing my best to stay afloat but I might be failing considering that I have started seeking alternative treatments for anxiety. Deep breaths don’t just be cutting it anymore. Anyways, it’s all good.

I want to talk about something that happens to be a source of anxiety to a lot of people, and that is the unending cycle of the bustle required to keep life going. Everyday, you must work towards financial independence and freedom. The 9-5 madness, the entrepreneurial hustle, all geared towards the same goal - being able to afford your own existence.

It’s so crazy that we have to pay to exist when we didn’t even ask for any of it. But here we are, each one trying to get ahead of the other, to make more money and buy nice stuff. Some are also trying to beat the illusion of time assigned to everyone at a particular age or stage of life where they are expected to have achieved one thing or the other.

The order is usually to make money, start a family, have children and focus on leaving a good legacy. It is easy to get lost in the craziness of it all. I know part of my anxiety is as a result of me wanting to improve my life financially, to get to the point where I have less worries about the matters of money.

We all wish it could be easier but sadly, it isn’t. You have to always be in sync else you might lose sight of your goals. This is why I think it is crucial to take much needed breaks. Rome was not built in a day. It is okay to rest and get back to it. Taking breaks is part of the process as it has its advantages like offering a fresh perspective and improving our performance.

I hope you find some time to say NO to capitalism and YES to your mental health. It is not easy especially for those with commitments that they can’t just up and take a break from, but I hope you find your way around it.

Thanks for stopping by. ❤️
