Potting Up Day!

IMG_3168.JPG

Everyone's getting bigger, so time to
start moving into BIGGER pots.

...or in this case, Red Solo Cups!!
Each year, I am so excited to get my garden started and start picking fruit and vegetables. But, patience, first. I need to go thru the stages: Sow Seeds. Care for Seedlings. Transplant Seedlings To Pots. Transplant again, depending on type of plant. THEN the plants can go outside.

Today was Potting Up Day! that day when the tiny seedlings are starting to outgrow their first seed starter cells, and need more room. I tend to use Red Solo Cups, mainly for tomato, as these thrive with a deeper 'pot' The roots LOVE depth.

My wife and I had to travel about 2 hours for a meeting this morning, plus another later. Then, 2 hours back... but none of that stopped me from Transplanting Seedlings. It felt good, after all that time on highways driving, to get back to some dirt, plants, and spoil.

All this transplanting and potting brings me one step closer to moving outside into the garden... as long as we see no more hail or snow, like yesterday!

Looking ahead, there's plenty to get accomplished this week alone! He's a short list of some important tasks:

  • Prep and Plant the 1st lettuce, and spinach containers.
  • Prep and sow the 1st peas grow bags.
  • Re-pot some of the mint cuttings from my Papou's (grandfather's) Mint plant from Greece.
  • Smile and encourage the plants... remind them how lucky they are not to be planted in @dreemsteem garden.

Have you planted outside? Are your plants still indoors?
Are your plants in greenhouses?
Leave me a comment, below... and a link to your garden!

It's time to take control of your own food supply,
your own health and your own lives.

I've been doing repotting too and need to sow more tomorrow. I am doing honey dew and watermelon ...lets see if that works out haha ...i have a bunch of tomato and chilli and zucchini seedlings but hubby moved them around (the ones that survived) while I was away a few weeks back and mixed up the identity tags... so for example...now I just have mixed tomatoes haha...although my second batch are labelled. Coming along nicely there, Greg! Hope the damaging weather stays away although I assume nothing has been planted out as yet from what I've read so far of this season's planting journey !ALIVE !LUV !PIZZA !LOLZ
