- Do you know how many POB tokens has been collected by this mandatory 10% charge ? Can you (or anyone) name a figure?
- Can you tell me how many POB tokens been spent (in the last 6 month) on that "Community development" ?
- Why the beneficiarry account used is not @pob-fund ?
- What were the reasons of creating @pob-fund account?
Hey @onealfa, long time no speak.
It has to be in the tens of thousands now. It would also be good to calculate the generated POB from @proofofbrainio votes since the 10% beneficiaries have been powered up to the account to then help spread the token distribution (successfully? well we both know that spreading tokens within the DPoS model is hugely flawed, so defining success is highly subjective). POB started with 1 token at the very beginning and due to the flawed nature of the DPoS model, the @proofofbrainio account has always been running a losing race in terms of "completely authentic token distribution while utilising the PoB/DPoS mechanics". I'd say they've done a good job overall, even if the task was a losing battle to begin with.
link)There were funds transferrred for the ecency POB front-end development (@leprechaun can provide some accuracy on this, or we can check: https://he.dtools.dev/@pob-fund?symbol=POB for transaction & memo details from the @pob-fund account). If we look at this in a more abstract view, the 10% beneficiary has been used for community development, just not in the sense that technical development has been the main focus. There was a back and forth between POB and the community on Discord (not an ideal method of communication, but it's still written for all to see) where he stated that @proofofbrainio and @pob-fund aren't used for personal gain. (Link to my comment in this thread with screenshots:
It was for a while, then it was reverted back (mentioned in the above comment thread screenshots) so that the @proofofbrainio account could retain its stakesize for assistance with token distribution, as well as tackling abuse (you know better than most how important it is to have a sizeable token stake in this game).
link to the post hereTo fund development, it was initially created back in April when @madstacks came up with the idea (including pob-fund friday), . For a long time, the community was sending funds to @pob-fund via beneficiaries (not sure if it's still happening). With 18K POB generated, I'd say it was pretty successful. It's nice to know that all those POB's were backed by the community in a definite manner. Hopefully these tokens can be used to fund the upcoming upgrades to the platform. Little bit of Proof Of Brain to fuel the Proof Of Brain.
Hope this helps.
Yes, this was voted and the ecency like proofofbrain site is here. It turns out Ecency has closed source components, which cannot be accessed and instead need to be recreated. It also uses services which are not part of the project. @good-karma the creator of ecency has given me permission to use the ecency image servers so people can use images in their posts. A search backend relay server has been written and added by myself to enable searches. Ecency must have something like it for things to work. It has a fully featured Hive Wallet and POB wallet builtin.
Our private API parts related to Pointing system is semi-closed but everything else should work just fine. If you guys need guide on some component that's essential and missing from codebase, do let us know 😉 New update coming out with Engine wallet support, so expect more ease integrations.
Come to think of it. You might say the private-api source code is rather missing...
