I have added a new video tutorial on my youtube channel on how to bind a 3D mesh clothing object to an Avastar Armature in a developer kit. Most dev kits provided by body makers use the add on for blender called Avastar. It has become the standard in most dev kits in Secondlife. New clothing creators or people who want to learn how to make their own mesh clothing are usually very intimidated by the rigging process. It is my hope by sharing videos like this that it will make this process less intimidating. I have split this process up into two parts. First there is the binding process and then the weight paint process which is needed to make adjustments and to clean up weights that were not exactly perfect from the weight transfers. Maybe by splitting this up a little it will not be as intimidating or complicated a process.
My video does incorporate both slides with text and video action clips This allows even those individuals who are hearing impaired or for those whom english is not their first language, but are able to read it better than they do in hearing it the opportunity to make use of this video.
Wow, such a detailed tutorial! Great work! I can see you put a lot of effort in your videos <3
I really do try to make them useful videos. I listen to what people tell me helps them and what they say didn't help them at all. I think it makes a difference that I actually work with people one on one to help them learn to build too. They actually give me some insight to what people who are completely new to the process are getting or not getting from my previous videos so I think that helps with developing a tutorial.
