Lots of people have been selling their Hive lately to combat the fall against major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. Sadly, this has affected the Hive blockchain in negative ways, so here's your friendly reminder to STOP selling HIVE. Panic selling has adverse effects on the market and has a negative effect on voting rewards on the chain.
We're all earning LESS because people are selling for a quick gain with traditional currencies. People should consider staking their coins and holding their wealth instead of panic selling. HIVE IS a valuable token and if you value the community, you'll hold as many coins as you can.
Do your best to not be tempted by short term gains, we're in this for the long haul!
Our rewards are in HIVE; so we won't lose any HIVE with the market dip. For that matter, we are likely to see our earnings increase as the people who do HIVE just for the earnings tend to disappear when the price of HIVE drops.
HIVE dips with bitcoin because the people who speculate on coins are pulling their money which increases the HIVE floating on the exchanges. There is very little we can do about this.
But, If you want to do something to reduce the float; you could drop a burn post.. In the advanced option on PeakD, set the beneficiary to "burn." This will put a little flag by the payout. The system will transfer the coins for the post to null. This reduces the float.

Yeah that's a good point; I've noticed the Burn option in posts but I don't ever remember using it. Declining a post is another option, but I understand that all that does is return the funds to the reward pool for other users. Thanks for the information man.
