Interesting you say the craft fair felt almost like 2019. It's a good thing of course, but it made me think about the amount of time we've been in this scenario. We're not too far away from two years. Around this time 2019 I was heading off to New Zealand for a holiday, my last due to the current situation in fact. Time flies and here...Well, we're no closer to a resolution or normality. Not that I expect normal to resemble what it was before.
Anyway, nice looking veggies. I like your trellis set up.
thanks on the compliments.
Most of the people within my industry (I work in Special Events AV Production) agree, we will never see what was prior. Our industry is forever changed. Ev.ents will most likely be much smaller, and almost always be more hybrid, in person and remote.
My last work was Mar 13, 2020... and so far, everything that was booked has been cancelled, so, nothing yet, until at least 2022..
Hmm, yeah I fear you're correct and that life as we knew it, as flawed as it might have been, is over. I've been fortunate to have had consistent work right throughout, albeit it from March to October 2020 at 75% the remuneration. I recently quit my job though, with none to go to which you may have read. I needed some time for myself and it felt like a good time to make an adjustment. I hope I've not made the wrong decision but only time will tell. From a me perspective I feel good about it. I guess the career will take care of itself.
Or not. I guess I'm loathe to let life dictate to me preferring to design and create it in the image I want it to resemble. I hope things work out for you.
in my case, I worked like a nutter early on, and the Pandemic didn't really affect me, too much: I had a nice safety net set aside. I am fortunate, to fall back on my avocation: Photography!
I've been passionate throughout my career about ONLY working on something I love, so, I TOTALLY get why would make the moves you did. I am Not going to sit in a CUBE and push the paper endlessly, ever.
Cube paper-pushing is for someone other than the likes of you and I. 😀
It seems like we've been similar in that we've managed to position ourselves well over the years. It's the only way I could take this little break. I hoping to be a little selective with what I do next but it'll come down to the finances I guess. We'll see.
do you still have both kidneys?
You can always sell one, and take more time off!
This is a very good point. [G-dog googles kidney sales.]
Also, my next contest, for which you sponsored, will be starting on Sunday. Just thought I'd let you know I didn't run away with your hive donation.
