RE: Enjoying Getting Dehydrated

in #proofofbrain3 years ago (edited)

I'll say your dehydrator came in handy considering the lockdowns and that you get your groceries once a month!

I like the banana chewy treat. Looks yummy. I hope Hobo and Tramp have their own treats dehydrated too. Does your dehydrator consume a lot of power? I'm trying to imagine how it works. Hehe.

Your peppers turned out good but I don't know you manage to dehydrate flax seeds and chia seeds. This is just how we dry perishable food stuffs here. 🙂

I'll know when I get my hydro bill if there is a substantial jump. I don't think it's terribly expensive to run. It's a low heat source that blows the heat up through the stacked trays and exhausts out the top removing the moisture from the food over the hours it's in there. Can also be done in an oven on low heat.

I didn't dehydrate the flax and chia seeds as much as I used them as part of the ingredients in the crackers which were then 'cooked' aka dried in the dehydrator and broken apart for eating.

At this point Hobo and Tramp haven't had any treats from it yet. Maybe at some point. They don't often like changes to their diets.
