I'd like to blame the aimlessness of this flick on the script yet genuinely there was a ton of acting that might have been done to save the movie..and it simply wasn't. The interesting cast including Steve Coogan, Zoe Deshanel, Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones and Elizabeth Banks turn in lopsided exhibitions.
Banks and Jones deliver when they are permitted on screen yet they aren't permitted to gel with different characters. Meanwhile Rudd- - who is amusing and charming in the flick- - delivers a cartoonish execution that loses the equilibrium of the remainder of the cast. Steve Coogan, a fave of mine, is put to powerless use as a bleak, cheating mate. Additionally, Zoe Deshanel, who is given an incredibly compelling character still thinks that opening her eyes wider is acting. She murmurs her way through the piece.
This presentation is considerably more terrifying than the one she delivered in unparalleled terrible flick The Happening. Cringe How would she be able to still get work? The director expected to decide here among charming and genuine and the decision was seldom made. It is an example in indie comedies that necessities to die quickly. See- - Cedar Rapids, Cyrus, Greenburg.
All had a glimmer of something yet couldn't pick a side. The funniest second in the movie comes while the credits work. Take that for what you will.
the movie can be downloaded here..
Aw damn, I haven't seen this yet and I'm disappointed to hear that it's not too good. Most movies with Paul Rudd in are at least decent and he's a joy to watch.
I'll give it a punt anyway and see if I feel the same.
