Got an example? If you see a double reply, it should be more than one person tweeting the post.

I got two tweets.. And then realized the first was my tweet and the second was my post tweeted by another person.. Check it out.. Maybe that is the case..
One my post retweeted by 6 persons then there should 6 comments but I saw only two. I think i use #posh tag when sharing my post in Twitter hence comes double comments. I am not sure 100% although.
Besides, I don't think it is the retweet which counts... Because in my case, the other person tweeted my post.. Maybe, that's why two comments for two tweets... and the rest of retweets remained untouched.

I use posh tag too. But the two could be easily accounted for... Six tweets and only two ... Hmm.. That I am not sure.
