RE: Beating a dying horse

Excellent breakdown of the culture war that's being sparked right now. I'm a very "live and let live" kind of guy until I feel that certain values are being forced upon us. There were moments of that opening ceremony were so over the top ridiculous that it had to be meant to cause outrage. One of the performers had his junk hanging out of the bottom of his shorts and was leaning against a child...on international television. That has to be illegal, right?

I have noticed very recently the anti-woke side leaning much more into Christianity. So many of them are doing this in lockstep too. During extreme times there does tend to be a certain amount of societal backlash that happens where the pendulum swings way too far back in the opposite direction. But this seems like more than that. Funny how this all coincides with the big election year in the US. There's never a time in my entire life that I've wanted to become a hermit more than now. Lol. I can only imagine this is what it was like during the final decades of the Roman Empire.

I've seen other people asking what was a kid doing there... didn't know about the junk..

Yes, the US elections make everything more complicated and I think we're in for a very rough six months. Already, what is happening in the US is unprecedented and mind-blowing, so there's no knowing what might be next in store for us. During the pandemic there was a meme saying that us conspiracy theorists hope to be proven wrong. I've been having the same feeling lately.

They're now claiming it was just a rip in a leotard and not actual body parts hanging out. It's so difficult to determine what's true and what's not these days.

It's going to be a wild year of political theater and false promises, that's for sure! Lol. So many of those "conspiracy theories" have been proven correct. On the other extreme I think people can go a little far down that rabbit hole sometimes and see nothing but conspiracy theories. It's a balance that takes diligence and critical thinking skills. There has to be a happy medium between being oblivious and completely jaded. I've had to limit the time I spend on the X platform lately, I found myself tip-toeing towards jaded.
