THE VIEW FROM THE DINNER TABLE
432 Park Avenue is going to be the tallest building in New York City once it’s finished. Architects of the Freedom Tower will tell you differently, but the giant aerial perched on top doesn’t necessarily cut it for most people… It’s slightly taller than the twin towers of the World Trade Centre were.
THE VIEW FROM THE COUCH
“We are proud to have created a New York City landmark that can be seen throughout all five boroughs, and which will enhance our city’s iconic skyline,” said Harry Macklower, CEO of Macklowe Properties.
“At 1,396 feet, 432 Park Avenue is the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere, and represents an extraordinary accomplishment of architecture, design, engineering and craftsmanship.”
THE VIEW FROM THE KITCHEN
Although the building won’t be completed until some time in 2015, the apartments are available for purchase now and a few have already been sold. They range from $18.7 million at the bottom end (although some would say that’s a pretty high bottom end) to $107.9 million for a penthouse suite among the clouds.
THE VIEW WALKING INTO THE BATHROOM
The unit sizes range from 1089 square metres to a ridiculous 2516 metres… your average Australian home is 243 square metres. That’s a suburban house, on a street, with a backyard, and Australia has the biggest homes in the world statistically. So that $108 million is paying for more than just a spectacular, unrivalled view.
THE VIEW FROM THE OTHER COUCH
This apartment boasts 3m x 3m windows for taking in the New York City skyline, people watching (maybe with a telescope) and star gazing, 3.8m high ceilings for your especially tall guests, and solid oak floors because when you’re that high up in the sky, how else are you going to enjoy trees?
THE GUEST ROOM
Let’s not forget the amenities that come with this purchase, either. Residents of an apartment in 432 Park Avenue have access to a whole bunch of private goodies, including a gym and a restaurant exclusive to 432 Park Avenue residents and guests of residents… I can’t imagine they serve cheeseburgers and wedges.
THE VIEW FROM YET ANOTHER COUCH
The units on the higher floors have full vantage points of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the all-new Freedom Tower and Central Park. Most of us are lucky to catch a glimpse of the city skyline if we climb up on our roofs on a really clear night and squint real hard… these apartments are the skyline.
THE VIEW FROM THE KITCHEN COUNTER
A 17-year-old photographer by the name of Demid Lebedev vowed to climb to the top of the incomplete 432 Park Avenue and take some photos of the breathtaking views from the summit, which he managed to do a couple months ago – illegally, which makes it so much more badass. Alas, unless his photography career takes a very prosperous turn, those exterior shots will be as close as he or most of the rest of us will ever get to knowing the pleasures of these views.
THE VIEW FROM THE BATHTUB
The site for this building was sold to Harry Macklowe in 2006 for $440 million… so selling four of these apartments should take care of that bill! A year after the deal, he knocked down the 80-year-old Drake Hotel to make room for this 104-condomonium apartment residential metropolis, and has since been considered one of the city’s most valuable development sites.
Why this is so cheap???? :D :D :D But honestly amazing apartment...love it ^_^
