What a long day is it and I've miss blogging. I'm not be able to be active here in the community for the last few days because I'm so busy doing our thesis proposal project. This is due this coming Friday, and defend will come next.

The research is not yet finish. But I'm happy to share the idea behind the research project.

I will be very happy to hear others idea about the study. I'm hoping to get a view from others about our research proposal.

Trash Bin Milling Machine

I. Introduction

The trash bin turns to be the best way to collect waste materials from individual residences to the outside environment. It is a means of storing the waste materials temporarily before it will be delivered and stored permanently to the dumpsite area. Trash bin no doubt is the most successful invention in relation to waste management control.

This research proposal is about inventing a mechanism which serves the same purpose to the trash bin. The mechanism will mill waste plastic cups so that the volume of the mentioned waste will reduce.

Trash bins found in designated places usually has only small storage available as it is designed to remove regularly. The waste materials to be put in trash bin are usually segregated by its type. The most common known type of segregation are the biodegradable and non-biodegradable. But in some places, non-biodegradable wastes were separated according to its kind (e.g. plastic bottles, plastic cups, portable forks, food Styrofoam container, etc.).

There are cases that the storage of the trash bin can’t last long enough, especially in some places where there are crowded people. And one of the most abundant sources of waste are the plastic cups. Not to mention, it is the common container to be use for drinking beverages.

In general, the study is about finding a way to maximize the storage of the normal trash bin for plastic cups without increasing the size of the storage.
