The french unions are being blamed for not controlling the black bloc, the anti-capitalists, from going around in Paris and smashing the capitalist goods in capitalist stores which they, the anti-capitalists, will never be able to buy, nor have a home within which to keep any such goods. The black bloc can, like the rest of us, view opulence and desire and carrots and chandeliers but may not touch them. We can't even have homes now. Now some are saying we should be grateful if a govt gives us old containers to set up our matrix pod in.
Why blame the unions for not stopping them? Why not blame the capitalist system that creates the problems in the first place? We gave neoliberalism 30 years, it's done now. Experiment over. Failure. Time to learn sharing and community values, and move beyond turning every tree and rock into another electronic imitation of real life. Time to get real.
