No mention about that during the footage but this is the description of the video : WoodSwimmer is based on a concept I developed while designing a new stop-motion universe where wood is the primary element. The sequences are cross-sectional photographic scans of pieces of hardwood, burls and branches. It is a straightforward technique but one which is brutally tedious to complete.
I was thinking this was some kind of stop motion capture. That explains the "tedious" part of the explanation. The way I invisioned this was the saw was removed after every slice layer by layer. That had to take forever! One of my many hobbies is furniture building, so I find wood very interesting. Thanks the post and for the explanation.
Very interesting. Perhaps what a lumberjack experiences on LSD. I liked it.
Whoa! Thanks for the share. This look very much like an acid trip!
How did they film that? I had the sound down so I apologize it that was explained in the video.
