RE: Psychology Addict # 48 | Groups & The Individual

Happy birthday @abigail, hope its not coming late.

this happened to Felipe was because of his mates, because of the group he was hanging around with

Exactly dear, peer group influence is a major factor that affects the behavioural attitude of a child either positively or negatively depending.
But what stops us from influencing the group to our taste? Cant we out-shine the group of friends we keep? All these are thoughts that rival in my subconscious, but I think its needless trying to alter the mindset of "the group" you share friendship with, its either you attract to them or repel them...unless you have understood yourself to the extreme. Otherwise, you will end up getting influenced by them and subsequently getting your mindset modified to suit them.
As regards your statement on attraction of like pair, you are not far from the truth...unlike, unlike pair which should always repel in a real sense...if only we employ a good choice of attraction.

Thanks for the cerebral indepth😊😊😊

You are not too late at all @anthonymartin320 😊 I truly appreciate your kind wishes as well as you very nice comment!

I was most drawn to the part you said 'understand yourself to the extreme', this indicates you engage with self-evaluation. I see this as a fundamental part of developing mental stability and well-being. Even more so when it comes to our relationship with groups. We ought to be honest to ourselves in order to cultivate inner-peace.

Thanks for taking the time to share you reflections here ;)

Well said, inner-peace is what matters but in a perception that's worthwhile. Thanks again 😊
