NLP: tips for speakers

in #psychology7 years ago

The first tip: a one-minute story
It will be great if you start your speech with:

The story that happened to you.
A story about the article you read.
With statistics.
The storyline built around the quote.
It is important that you open the story in such a way as to evoke an emotional experience in the audience. The message needs to be made sensory, that is, to use words that refer to the five senses: eyes, ears, tongue, smell, skin.

Tie them inside the story, as if this is happening to every person in the audience. In NLP, this is called an association.

Tip 2: Use sensory words
This advice extends and complements the first.

In NLP, such words are called predicates. They are specially selected in order to evoke a sensory experience.

Example:

Hearing: hearing, listening, melody, harmony, the bell rings, it sounds like.
Sight: look, see, colorful, bright, clear.
Touch: feel, rough, soft, smooth.
Taste and smell: smells, sweet, fragrant, spicy.
Tip three: set the anchor
The anchor creates the "stimulus-reaction" principle. It was invented by psychologist Ivan Pavlov.

You can "fix" the scene using positive words on one part of the scene, and negative ones on the other.

Once you make sure that the anchor is installed, to agree with the audience with your opinion, go to the "positive" side.

Tip Four: Gesture in a positive and negative way
When you say something negative, point your hand in a direction from yourself and from the audience. If the positive, show on yourself and the audience.

Tip Five: Use gestures to engage the audience
When you perform, use gestures to emphasize your speech. Pleasant moments of history should be supported by smooth movements. It works at a deep unconscious level and attracts the listener and the viewer.
