Shocking! - My Experience With Electro-Therapy: Prologue

in #psychology7 years ago

I have suffered with depression for most of my adult life. As a result, I've developed many horrible coping mechanisms, and often self-medicate to try to escape said depression. I realize that this is, of course, not healthy, and have attempted several methods of trying to cure myself. I have gone through rehab, continued therapy, and mindfulness exercises...most to little or no effect.

In my search for some sort of alternative treatment, I came across what is known as a "Fisher-Wallace" device. Apparently, Carly Simon uses one...and what's good enough for Carly Simon is good enough for me! Unfortunately, the price point of an actual brand name device is way more than I can afford at the moment, so I looked into possible "off-brand" solutions. Eventually, I came across The Brain Driver...a low cost device which has decent reviews on Amazon. While not exactly what I was looking for, some research seems to show that it may be effective in treating depression.

I just pulled the trigger and purchased one, and should be receiving it shortly. I'll be updating once I receive it with an unboxing and maybe some notes on setup, and I will continue updating on how the process of using the device goes!

Please upvote if you'd like to see further updates, and feel free to ask any questions about depression...I'm not shy, and I feel talking about it helps!

My best wishes to you! I have suffered severe bouts of depression, their damn drugs took me from sad to suicidal... It was a long road back to functional and even happy - never thought THAT could happen. I hope this works for you. I found brainwave entertainment VERY helpful, I used several different devices. I believe that we are, essentially, energy beings having a physical experience. Treating our energy bodies rather than our physical bodies gives us better odds of CURING the problem.

I hope that it will help and look forward to reading of the outcome! :)
