The Life of an Anxious Person

Expectations, worries. The days linger, irritation and impatience rise. If you suffer from anxiety, you probably have many days of restlessness and discontent.

Time seems to flow differently for anxious persons. The present moment is always drenched in thoughts about what happened in the past, and thoughts about what might happen in the future. And the present moves slowly under the heavyweight of countless worries and fears.

Even when nothing is happening the anxious person is feeling the burden of worry. Maybe is the middle of the night, and everything is nice and quiet, and you’re comfortably laying down in your bed. But your brain is busy at work, trying to figure out all that went wrong, and all that will certainly be catastrophic.

A social event is never just a fun party or get-together. It is the culmination of days, or even weeks, of planning, worrying, trying to predict all that will go wrong. And is also the start of days, or even weeks, of over-analysing all that happened in this little party.

No situation or information will escape over-analysis.

Anxiety is like a little monster slowly eating away your insides, one by one, until there is nothing left but bitterness and regrets.

I guess this post is a little depressing... oh well...
