I just want to share my story with you all on how I actually gave up weed altogether because I bought a vaporizer. I had smoked for a long time, since I was 17 (I'm 29) I quit last year and I'm not looking back. There's a reason why I could quit for good with a vape, and it has to do with human psychology. Marijuana is not physically addictive, which is why when people get "addicted" to weed or get into the routine or habit of using it a lot there's a psychological addiction that's going on. Granted, MJ does have medicinal properties, but the pyschoactive THC isn't needed to use those properties. For example CBD oil has virtually no THC but it's still medicinally effective. Anyway, how did buying a vape help me to quit weed? Well first off, I wasn't trying to quit weed, I was trying to get a healthier and higher high. What ended up happening was I could "smoke" or vape anywhere I wanted without people recognizing I was smoking. That's because the smell of burning cannabis is virtually eliminated when using a vaporizer. So it was pretty awesome at first, getting high is restaurants, coffee shops, the movies, anywhere. So what I believe happened was what I'll call the forbidden fruit effect was taken away. So now it's not something I have to hide, so that means no more dopamine being released when I'm smoking because in the back of my mind I know I shouldn't be doing this, and there's a possibility I may get into trouble. When there's no fear or anxiety, weed is actually kind of boring, well in itself it's kind of boring (for me). I could finally observe the effects of the cannabis without anxiety, so I could get a much clearer picture of what was happening in my body as a result. It led me to get bored with weed, I realized I can't get any higher than this and that's all it is. It sort of showed me the ceiling and I don't have any craving for weed any more.
