The Doctor's had already called the ambulance.

"You're Too Sick To Go Home, You Need To Be In The Hospital" they said.

I could hardly breathe, every part of my body ached, just lifting my arm to sign the forms hurt. I needed help but I couldn't let them take me away, I couldn't get into that ambulance.

"Just Give Me The Drugs And I'll Be Fine" I replied.

They couldn't believe it and used every ounce of their persuasive skill to convince me hospital was the best place for me.

I knew they were right and it's not that I've got anything against hospitals. The fact was if I didn't close some deals in the next 48 hours, my pregnant wife, four young kids and myself would be kicked out on the street.

I'd only just started out in business a few months back with literally $1000 to my name, sole income provider for my pregnant wife and four other kids.

At this stage we were three weeks behind in the rent, the fridge was empty and our bank account was overdrawn.

And this was when I chose to get hit with the worst case of Pneumonia anyone has ever seen.

Great timing.

Anyway, after a heated debate, I got my script from the Doctors, was forced to sign some paperwork refusing treatment from the ambo's, crawled to the pharmacy and made my way back home.

I made 50 phone calls that day....and closed $4000 in sales.

By the end of the week, I'd banked just under $11 000.

Eighteen Months later I had offices in four states of Australia.

I did it all on my own, through sheer hard work and determination.

Today, people think I'm lucky....

But they weren't there on days like this day

They weren't there for all the failures

They didn't see where I started.

And they didn't see the hours I worked and the conditions I worked in to make shit happen.
