I think is both things, an ego (a soul individualized) but also a connection with the collective inconsciuos, or soul, as Kabbalists said for centuries and later pointed out CG Jung. The information of the soul is inmortal, but becomes individualized in a mortal body, wich concious of being alive, in this world. Nothing unknown for Kabbalist, but also it shoul be compehensible for Christian, in the figure of a God (infinite) who condescends to be a man, finite, mortal... So we have the infinite inside the finite, the lights of Ein Sof in the other more dense lights.. Wel,, I like the post! Upvoted!
