12 Kinds of people that pisses me off (and some are just downright distasteful)

in #psychology7 years ago

After a d!ckish post yesterday, I figured I generally dislike a few kinds of people.

Don't worry, I'm aware that I'm on someone's list too. You just can't get through life pleasing anyone. :)

  1. Irresponsible People

Ah, the people who don't give a shit. You know them - they are the ones you wouldn't trust a pack of toothpick with. I can safely say if everyone in the world is responsible for their own actions, half the world's problem could be gone in an instant. #snap

  2. Those with an entitled mentality

Not gonna pull a race card on this, don't worry. For me, those with "entitled" mentality are those who say shit like:

    • I got a double degree, so why should I be doing these lame tasks? (Prioritisation aside)
    • I can't eat street food. It's for peasants!
    • I'm a women, and I deserve this. (Same woman who fights for women empowerment, but that's a story for another day.)
  3. Calculative People

Always suspected these are the people who invented the decimal points. They are the ones that would go mega-accountant on you, even if it's a project for social causes. Suddenly, their time is billable, sharing a post on their FB is a marketing cost, and they charge more for petrol claims than governments can impose on fuel.

  4. Leeches

Credit takers, lime light stealers, it's-team-work-but-let-me-give-my-helicopter-view-and-dissociated-perspective-way-back-there. I always suspected the leeches have the power of teleportation too, because the moment there's stage time, or weife time, or look-at-that-influential-person-who-just -walked-in, before you can say "leech", #boom, they are there.

Side note: when there's work to be done, their teleportation power kicks in too.

  5. Whiners

Complainers are fine, but those who don't want to do anything about the situation are the worst!

  6. People with Zero-growth Mindset

Graduation signify two things to this group - shit just got real, and no need to learn for the rest of my life. Fuck books! Books, podcasts, interviews, conference tickets, audiobooks, webinars, workshops are mostly wasted on these people, so don't bother.

Oh, except those books - they are good for showing off, and as door stoppers.

  7. Disrespectful of other's time

The people who invented the vaguely progressive term - on the way. The kind that would apologise for being late after being 30 minutes late. If there's a memoir dedicated to them, it would be "I underestimated how jam it will be."

  8. Community Rapers

Wrote about this in detail a few weekends ago. Oh yeah, here it is. :)

Basically, they are those who project to the world they do good, but backstage, they will milk every dollar from the causes.

  9. Social Media Whores

At one point you'd wonder if they would show their d!ck pics. To them, every small achievement deserves to be known to the world, and if it doesn't get 100 FB likes and 50 comments, Facebook sucks. But don't worry Zuck, they will be back with another whore of a post a few minutes later.

  10. Those who think they are good enough to filter opportunities for others

The "community leaders" who must screen opportunities to see if it's beneficial for the members. Sure, sometimes they gotta filter for Ponzi schemes and MLMers, but don't the members deserve to decide on their own, Mr. Leader?

  11. Women beaters

This is common sense, so I shall not elaborate. But if it's common sense, then why do the idiots still raise their hands?

  12. Pedophiles

This one causes me to vomit even on an empty stomach. Especially those who are in position of power. Total power abusers to downright sick, this is a special group that I am trying to practice forgiveness on, and it has been decades since the practice started.

Did a post on a trainer that's a convicted pedo a long while back too.

Personally, I am, or used to be, guilty of #1, #5, #9 and #10.

What's yours?

Wait, why's Mav posting on Steemit nowadays?

Well, unlike other blogging and social media platform, Steemit is the only platform that allows me to earn cryptocurrency when I engage with it. Yup, one Steem is about USD7, and you, too, can earn Steem Dollars every time you:

  • Create content (articles, blog posts, podcasts, videos, photos)
  • Upvote (like) other people contents
  • Comment on other people's posts
  • Have discussions, share opinions etc!

Yup, basically it's the very same thing you're doing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc all along!

The only difference? For once you can earn a nice income on the side!

Sign up for a free Steemit account, and you can thank me by coming back and upvoting this article. And guess what, you will earn Steem too for doing that! #awesome

Attention whores and people who have done it, and it was always better than yours storytellers

That was a great post @maverickfoo and apart from the more obvious ones (e.g., women beater, pedo, etc.) I never thought about labelling people but some, like the social media whores, is so bang-on. Thinking about how I perceive people I encounter in life and work, I think I go pretty basic and just use and internal scale with "nice" on one end and "asshole" on the other. People fall somewhere along that scare to variying degrees.

Haha, I like the scale you're using.

And I also like to think as we grow older, we become wiser of who we spend our time with, and standing up against people we don't agree with.

I think most people are a little or more of everything. I try not to be any of the above 'cause I am really impatient with the aforementioned. But I guess for me, I gotta be more tolerant and patient... maybe judging less and be more understanding of their reasons to be so-and-so? LOL @maverickfoo

Living life avoiding others is hard. Either you be agile like Catwoman, or just bulldoze them with a Bat Tumbler.

In agreement, on all that list. Hehe

I think between us, we can come up with at least another 21. :)

Have a great week, buddy.

Lol. True true. See you soon in Kk bro. I was thinking paragliding would be cool. Up for it?

I'm a timid dude. @deborism is the more adventurous of us...

I'll add one... Pirates, those that pirate others art, music or products. But maybe this would be a community raper type or fit in with several more of your categories.

Good point there.

Always suspected these are the people who invented the decimal points.

rofl.. I was expecting to fit at least 5 but, I could say hardly #2, #5-ish, #8, #10
5-ish because it starts as a complain, and If I don't have enough power or authority to change the situation it turns into whinings & cryings..

Hey, thanks for being honest? Have a great week ahead.

Oh no! I am guilty of #6 and #7. For a long time, it was just work and life just got in the way. I just never gave much thought to it until becoming a mother. I am just glad that I am out of that mindset now. Heaps of catching up to do, but I am just glad that God redeems our time. If not would be really depressing and scary.

#7 kind of hit hard, You are right, it all boils down to not respecting people's time. I always thought it was because of being disorganised. Sigh...I am aware of this already and am working hard at it...still fail when I turned up late for Day 2 bootcamp! But, but, but....the Grab driver took ages to come! :) Hahaha...I will be early...I will be early...

Like they say, Awareness Before Change, right?

I can understand how timing can be affected when you're a parent. Priorities, eh? That's why as much as possible, I try to work from or hang at SS2. Walking distance to my son's resource center and home, and I get people to meet me there under the guise of me buying coffee. It's way, way cheaper than driving out of the way ;)

Oh no, I was guilty of most of it when I was younger and childish in my late teen years. Thanks to my career, changed my life and character tremendously. Now, I only 'suffer' from overthinking and putting-others-before-me syndromes. :D

It's good that you're aware, @heartscally. I used to suffer from overthinking too, and a coach told me to set a time limit which upon expiring, I must take action.

John Maxwell also taught me this a few years back:
On tasks that has been done before, plan longer.
On tasks that are new, shorten the planning time, and quickly execute.

Wise words from John Maxwell! Yeah, I learned the hard way, but getting better I guess. It gets better everyday! :)

Except for pedo n woman beater, over times I realised that I accidentally developed some kind of tolerance with these kinds of people and I just couldn't be bothered with their attitudes and I will just move on . Reading your post makes me wonder how come I developed this tolerance.

I think that deserves a how-to post, eh?

I think you've made comprehensive list of wicked people, with whom good quality people would never date.

Date?! I wouldn't even go that far yet, haha!

Although it'll be hard if you have a loved one who has one of items on the list. :(

I think good people can't love one with feature from this list. I think love, is when people want the same thing, hence how good man/woman could want to be a pedo, woman beater etc?

Nice reading... Great Evaluation...

that's one of your great posts useful tips often tell us how to conduct with other people

We might be part of the group, but it is never to late if you aware the problem and rectify it immediately once you realized it.
