I find your final observation about men lashing out while women are introspective about failure to be interesting and spot-on. I know when I fail I generally think to myself "How can I do better next time?" (admittedly, with some harsh words to myself mixed in with that statement. I'm not that well balanced) while the men in my life lash out or refuse to do "the thing" ever again.
