My photo of my fortune cookie last night at a Chinese Restaurant.
This is the truth we have to watch what we allow into our minds. Another reason to meditate or otherwise direct our subconscious mind.
If you have television watch out what you allow yourself to watch. I know it works in fashion. All my life I would see the stupidest styles and then after being programmed subconsciously by the media enough times I am thinking, "That looks great." Now I see on the web where the new fashion may be blue eyebrows to match the blue hair some females have. Wonder how long it will take to like that one.
Let's talk about books
If you want to increase muscle memory read a book. The book heightens language receptivity.
Studies also show reading a book for just 6 minutes causes the heart rate and muscle tension to subside.
Yet, it’s estimated that 42 percent of college graduates will never read another book after they finish their degrees. link
There are many Steemians writing books. Don't you love it in here?
I got rid of my television 1.5 to 2 years ago. It took lots of calls to get internet without television. The companies insisted I had to have television to get internet hookup. Finally I succeeded. This week I receive an offer from the cable company to actually lower my bill by ten dollars if I get television with my internet. What a crazy world.
I like reading however we end up watching a movie when my husband comes home. It is not like one sits and reads to the other. We are studying different things so sometimes we study to ourselves then watch a movie.
I look forward to reading which you prefer reading a book or watching television.
Thank you for reading my post ❤️
Live strong, Steem on!

I don't watch television really unless it's travel related or space. I have read a few books last year but not this year, other than a few travel guides to Aus and NZ.
Television is a great way to waste precious time unless it is educational.
As a kid, I used to read plenty of books. Now in my mature years I have become more of a TV fan. Maybe its because I tend to read tutorials and such online (Steemit blog posts :) ).
I like online tutorials and such. I am mature too. How mature are you?
I call it wisdom.
I am an avid reader; always have been.
When I was in high school, instead of going out Friday and Saturday nights, I spent the afternoon at the local library then stayed in for the evenings reading.
Not to say now I don't like to watch documentaries; they are my favorite viewing for television watching.
A book usually. More now then ever

Books are great! I am doing a lot of nonfiction lately and studying various things.
Any books you would recommend that you are reading fiction or otherwise?
@deadmoonwrites if you feel like telling me. :)
Too many to mention 🙂 right now I am reading some Jordan Peterson and a bunch of short stories from various writers.

Thanks, I totally get it .. I like to have several books at hand.
I watch tv, but I love reading ... Especially books in English my favorite author is Colleen Hoover
Oh, thanks I will look her up.
I like romance if there is history mixed into the story. lol I know I am strange. I looked her up @denissemata and see you are a romantic.
Hahaha yes. I like romance
Fun stuff!
Between the two, a book―I rarely watch TV. But I do consume a lot of video at 2x speed. I'm more interested in receiving information and entertainment than the format in which it's conveyed.
Thanks for providing the source for that statement. Out of skeptical curiosity I followed the link to your source ( a fairly casual article on Care2.com) and in turn to its source (statisticbrain.com) which is apparently an outfit that sells raw datasets. The dataset to which Care2 links is for sale, but isn't public. It's also notable that Statistic Brain's own about page describes itself as a non-anlytical provider of raw numbers. So it's weird that they'd be directly cited for a conclusory "estimate" of this sort.
The 42% claim isn't well supported. Statistics, especially bold claims, should be approached with care. But you've still blogged an interesting article and―like you―I'm in favor of reading in old formats, as well as new.
I too followed and saw I would have to join Statistic Brain and declined. It is best to realize anything on the internet can be false. Haha! As you noted. I too found that number quite high and thought how could they quantify such a statistic.
No argument here. Lovely to meet someone who checks facts. Perhaps we can apply Hitchen's razor here.
Let's go with wikipedia's definition of Hitchen's razor:
Also 2 x the speed is hopefully videos on the internet and not movies in the dvd player.
What's a DVD player? 😄
check them out on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dvd-players/b?ie=UTF8&node=1036922
DVD is
DVD definition is - an optical disk using a high-capacity format and containing especially a video recording (such as a movie) or computer data
You are messing with me but that is okay lol
I like that fortune!
I rarely watch TV anymore... my wife moreso because she "likes to keep up with what the kids are doing." The kids are all adults now, and live elsewhere... but she finds it's a connecting point. I just feel like there are braincells jumping out of my ears in a suicide attempt for 90% of today's programming.
My blood pressure falls when I read a book, my IQ falls when I watch TV. That sounds about right...
LOL well put. I know one study I read said
I believe it too. lol

thanks so much :)
It's not easy for me to answer on this one because I don't like both...but if you combine them I'll take it happily. Never realized that I like reading that much until I took up games that do storytelling more than gameplay stuff. Well, except that we don't normally play games on TV, but I guess you know what I mean?
yes I think I do. haha!
