I've had a recurring dream of battling rough seas or flooding and I figured, I would often dream of it when I'm troubled or stressed about something. Knowing the 'pattern' made me less bothered by it. I knew I just have to clear my mind from so many things before I go to sleep to avoid having that bad dream again.

Yes, knowing the pattern helps immensely, as well as clearing the mind before sleep. : )
