We are told that it's important to instill in our children a strong work ethic.
There are plenty of ideas for how to go about doing this.
Some insist the kids take on chores or summer jobs. Others make an effort to talk with their children about the value of work and the value of money
.

Some families may call on a reward system: allowance, or a new book /toy, for small tasks performed.

So do this work, give this kids a good work ethics?
Is work ethic always instilled--by parents, in young children?
Can it be learned later on or, in fact, even be inherent?

Families these days are busy. In many cases--most cases, I'd argue--it's far less complicated to take out the trash or feed the dog yourself than to have the kids do it

Our life is working, how come so many dont have work ethics??

Working is a central aspect of life, providing a source of structure, a means of survival, connection to others, and optimally a means of self-determination.
Across the globe, people devote considerable time and effort in preparing for, adjusting to, and managing their work lives.
Many of the major crises affecting people and communities have been and continue to be related to working
Crises often affect nations and states at a macro level, and have a profound impact on the course and trajectory of individual lives.
Wars, famines, and risks to personal safety have all been directly related to access to work in short, lack of work is a significant cause of social and economic disruptions as well as poverty.

At the same time, working, when it is dignified and meaningful, can create the foundation for a satisfying life that allows people to support themselves and their families, and to find an outlet for their values and interests in the world of work

Work is not just put food on the table

Given that working takes place in a social and political context that frames the nature of individuals’ experiences, the decisions that scholars and practitioners make about how to study work have vast consequences for individuals, families, and communities.

Work is a central aspect of life.
While obvious to most readers, the central role that work plays in life, in promoting or inhibiting well-being, and in establishing the basis for healthy, safe, and nurturing communities is clearly affirmed:

β€’ Need for survival and power: Harkening back to our hunter-gatherer roots, working, at its core, is integral to our survival. In addition, working has the potential to enhance one’s power in the world, via material acquisition as well as the attainment of status and prestige.

β€’ Need for social connection: For many people, working provides extensive opportunities for relationships . Furthermore, working serves as one of the major theaters for interactions with others, including relationships that are supportive as well as relationships that are problematic. In addition, working provides an informal connection to the social world via the sense of contribution that people experience in their work

β€’ Need for self-determination: At its best, working provides people with opportunities to engage in activities that are interesting, stimulating, and meaningful, thereby fostering a sense of self-determination In addition, self-determination can be attained via extrinsically motivating tasks that are useful in helping people attain goals that they value.

Is work ethics made??

Schools have begun emphasizing "work ethic" within their standard curriculum.
in which students are taught the basics of being a good employees: not just how to get a job, but how to keep the job by showing up on time, doing good work, and exceeding employer expectations.
There is also good reason to believe that work ethic is inherent, something we're born with,
like a talent for piano or a natural sense of humor
.
Some kids are just more interested in working.

The Work is needed to grow a person as well physically and emotionally and so mentally.
It is bad when work is the only means of subsistence.
The person has to find a job that love and like.
There is a saying - "Find a job that you love and you newer necessary to work"

I agree with you, but having a work you enjoy doing should be the way to go/think/ look for. I find most peopel JUSt work for money..

While I must admit, this is a WONDERFUL post ... once I saw the newest video of Dead Can Dance... I had to refocus. I have loved DCD as well as Brendan Perry and Lisa Lisa Gerrard since I first learned of them while I was in Germany in the service (1992-1994)...

It is indeed hard to tell; are we just products of our environment? Are we just a drip on a faucet...waiting to transcend into another reality? I believe in a higher power... God... that everything happens for a reason.

Wonderful post...now let's get back to more DCD :)
