Yes sadly I am sure there are many like him, to a degree I was like than till my late 30's not sure if I can say exact one thing that triggered the change I think it was a combination of events that emotionally drained me for quite a while, but in the process of pulling myself back up I came to be who I am now just me and what I feel and like not acting for anyone else any more and I truly am so much happier now than I was bottling things up

Perhaps wisdom and being more self aware? I imagine much of that has to do with growth. I think going through adversity makes you more aware of who you really are and what you are capable of. Glad you are doing well now :)
