One time, when we insisted that our son pick up the toys in his room, he complained, "I feel like a slave." While his complaint was irrational, there was some truth in his real feeling of inequality, for many reasons. We've worked to heal old patterns of disharmony in our family. What's working for us now is to value the children as little mirrors of us, recognizing the Karma of giving and receiving love.
