A vow of silence one day a week? That sounds like a great idea! What led your friend to trying that?
I imagine being out in Alaska would make people crave a bit of fresh communication once in a while.

Yeah it is pretty interesting to watch her socialize on a Saturday night :) She does it to learn the skill of communication; body communication. She is an artist as well so I am sure it helps with performance art.
