Estou no Steemit desde agosto de 2016. Mesmo tendo passado um bom período quase sem usar, nesse tempo todo deu pra perceber algumas coisas por aqui. Por exemplo, os usuários ativos. Por incrível que pareça o que faz a maioria deles permanecerem na plataforma não são as recompensas. Muito pelo contrário, quem vem pensando apenas nas recompensas normalmente dura pouco, e sai até um tanto quanto frustrado pois achava que aqui seria uma oportunidade de ganhar dinheiro fácil. E a verdade é que não existe dinheiro fácil, nem aqui nem em nenhum lugar.
Mas os usuários que realmente permanecem são aqueles que gostam de escrever e de interagir, e de consumir o conteúdo do Steemit, seja pela empatia com outros usuários, seja pelas dicas de culinária, saúde, vida, investimentos, etc.
O Steemit sim tem recompensas, mas se você está chegando agora esqueça elas por enquanto. Se preocupe em gostar da plataforma, em enxergar valor e utilidade nela. Seja um usuário antes de tudo. Procure conteúdo interessante que te atraia, leia e comente, dê sugestões. Perceba com seus comentários aqueles que despertaram mais interesse da comunidade, e então comece a fazer posts sobre esses assuntos.
Então pra finalizar, a minha dica para novatos é: esqueçam as recompensas. O mais importante pra vocês nesse momento inicial não deve ser ganhar dinheiro, mas seguidores. Pela minha experiência percebi que meus posts só começaram a ganhar votos relevantes em termos de valor após ter mais de 1000 seguidores. Até lá, nem olhe pra recompensa, mas comemore cada seguidor que você for conquistando. Faça de conta que você é um político defendendo suas ideias e o seus eleitores são os seus seguidores.

Um dos melhores conselhos para se dar a um novato! Eu próprio, que ainda sou novato, bem novato, não pelo tempo a que me inscrevi, mas pelo ritmo que ainda não adquiri, tenho percebido que a principal preocupação no Steemit deve ser conteúdo. Eu, que não era blogger antes do steem, mas que sendo licenciado em Antropologia, a escrita constitui a espinha dorsal da minha formação, procuro um conjunto de temas que consiga manter com qualidade.
Claro que existem truques e dicas para se ter mais sucesso, maiores recompensas. Contudo, dois passos básicos seriam:
Demora algum tempo, mas vale a pena. A recompensa monetária é só uma delas. Existe demasiado conteúdo com muita qualidade para ser desperdiçado.

Eu quando vim para o Steemit (ainda nem faz 1 mÊs hehe) Vim é claro na opção de monetização e no Dtube, já que eu havia recém começado a gravar vídeos para youtube. Mas quando cheguei aqui e vi a imensidade de coisas boas para ler e interagir com as pessoas, até deixei de lado a parte do vídeos por enquanto. Pois são tantos conteúdos para explorar e ler e de quebra vou acabar ganhando por isso. Pois vi que fazia coisas parecidas no facebook, mas já estava cansado de encontrar tanto pouco conteúdo prestável por lá e então adotei o Steemit como minha rede social principal hoje e o que vier de recompensas é consequência ^^
Você falou tudo. Use e interaja de maneira sincera e com informação útil para a comunidade. E assim os seguidores e "fãs" virão. E com a quantidade deles, posteriormente, as recompensas.

Quando entrei na plataforma eu, sinceramente, visava muito as recompensas, mas não demorou muito para eu perceber que esse não era o que me atraia para a plataforma.
