hi, I'm ancientsteenpunk (bill is my name). Your country fascinates me with all the ancient archeological sites! I want to go to Gobekli-Tepi so much, and Capidoccia also. My question is what is the attitude towards American tourists? Is it reasonably safe to travel alone or should I try to find a tour group or simply wait for things to settle down?

You should visit as soon as possible, you will not regret! You can come alone, it is OK. Most of the Turkish people are helpful and love the tourists. Just be careful when you use taxi or buying something :) some people can put the bite on you. There are a lot of tourists visiting these places. You are welcome @ancientsteempunk!
