RE: Dear Steemit, I am flush with power!

in #pure8 years ago (edited)

Hey my man, I just started to not auto vote my posts anymore and also canceled my vote for my posts of last week.

Before HF19 I think it was OK to feed the n², I also thought " I post things that I like , so it makes sense to upvote them". But with HF19 and your Steempower it just feels like I am tipping myself 50 cent with partly borrowed power.

If I were to make 5 posts a day I would use 50% of my voting power on myself. That is rather shady, I just wonder why auto-vote is checked by default, if it is kind of against the etiquette of Steemit.

It's not as bad to upvote your own posts as it is for upvoting your own comments.

Yeah, but if I have a period of time again where I blog more frequently, I don't want to look like I am circle boosting myself with my and your power.

The change from n² to n is actually great to promote conversations in the comments. If I have an engaging and long debate with someone I tend to upvote one of the replies.

Upvoting comments was kind of wasteful before, because of the n².

Interesting, if it does help promote discussions in comments, that's a good thing.
