Well my personal opinion is that pretty much all scripts for how to live life and be with other people are learned adaptations to the way we were raised. Sometimes this is combined with genetic variations in the nervous system but for the most part people learn social roles based on early experiences, either by copying modelled behaviours and/or adapting to a social circumstance.
My opinion is that personality disorders should pretty much be understood as "complex trauma" disorders since they usually are shaped by early (and often long lasting) developmental experiences
Well there are plenty of controversies in psychology about what can be "cured" and what can't. I mean even the language here is a bit slippery. I think the tendency is to consider that a person with such extreme tendencies towards antisocial actions should never think of it as something they don't need to manage, but that they can learn to manage it.
But if you think of it as "cured" then you might stop thinking about actively managing yourself.
And really, we all need to manage ourselves, especially if we know we are capable of extreme behaviours.
