A Brief Overview
‘Scalability’!!! The one dilemma that has haunted all the existing blockchains for so long has finally been claimed to be solved by this new up and coming blockchain beast --- QuarkChain!!
It is fast turning into the hottest topic of discussion among almost all the crypto communities and the influencers all over the world, and for good reason.
QuarkChain is attempting to be a true allrounder by incorporating all the best qualities required by a blockchain for mass adoption, which are:
. Decentralisation
. Security
. Scalability
How do they plan on implementing all that?
-With a solution of a double layered blockchain.
The first layer is an elastic sharding layer and contains all the minor blockchains (shards), which process a sub-set of all transactions.
The second layer is the root blockchain, which confirms all blocks from the sharded chains, but does not process transactions itself.
As the number of shards increases, the shards are able to process more concurrent transactions, resulting in a linear increase in the throughput of transactions on the blockchain, which gives it a potential of infinite scalability.
If QuarkChain does actually live up to all the hype and potential it has, the future of the blockchain era looks very bright.

Even though their code is not open-source on github yet, for understandable reasons, they have put out a working testnet with speeds of upto 2,200 transactions per second which is above even the fastest working product of any blockchain out there to date (Zilliqa; with 2000 tps). Even though it is not open to testing for everyone, it has been confirmed to be legitimate by many credible sources.
. Team
The team behind the project is solid and strong with stalwarts boasting of experience working for giants like Google, Facebook, etc., which only adds to the credibility of QuarkChain.
. Roadmap
They have a very exciting roadmap which starts from 2017 and has already produced a working testnet. With the mainnet scheduled for a Q4 launch in 2018 itself, the excitement around the project is going to definitely skyrocket.
. Token lockup
With all the tokens except for the tokens sold in crowdsale locked up for an extended period, the token value is primed for an explosion in value the moment it hits the market after the ICO.
. Hardcap
With a very low hardcap of just $20 million, for such a project, a humongous return of investment is slated, considering the marketcap of its competitors like Ethereum, Fusion, Zilliqa, etc., all being in the multiples of billions.
. Hype
With almost all the major crypto influencers backing QuarkChain, the confirmation of a working MVP and the potential of 1,000,000 transactions per second, the hype around QuarkChain is bigger than even the just released Avengers: Infinity War movie.
In Conclusion
QuarkChain is set to shake up the entire blockchain ecosystem with their revolutionary technology. If they deliver on even half the throughput they are aiming to produce, the sky is the limit for the project and it could easily rise up to topple the heavy weights in the cryptocurrency market right now (Ethereum, Neo, Ripple, Zilliqa, Fusion, Wanchain, etc.).
