Demonstration procession demanding quota cancellation

Bangladesh general student rights conservation council has organized a protest rally in every college-university demanding to declare the announcement of the cancellation of the quota for protesting the protesters.

The program was announced at a news conference in front of the Dhaka University (DU) central library on Saturday (May 12th), the council convenor Hasan Al Mamun said.

The program will be held on Sunday (May 13th) at 11pm.

Hasan Al Mamun said that some of the most enthusiastic terrorist attacks on the protesting brothers at Comilla University. We strongly condemn and protest. As well as requesting the government to take strict punishments against them. Besides, police obstructed peaceful human chain in Rangpur and threatened to arrest the protesters. On the other hand, Proctor of Islamic University took photographs. We will conduct demonstration procession in every college-university of the country demanding a notification of the announcement of the announcement of the Prime Minister's offer to the protest and parliament. During the protest, from 11am to 1pm, all class-exams will be closed.

Joint convener Nurul Haque Noor said, although the announcement of the Prime Minister had 31 days, the notification was not given yet. During the discussions with the government representatives, they repeatedly assured us that the notification will be issued on May 7. But today, on May 12, our desired notification was not given. So, I was coming to Tagaad repeatedly, we do not want to move to the Bengali society and society. Why is the commitment given to us is not being protected? So did the student community give false assurances? He urged to provide quick announcement without tearing. Otherwise he warned not to leave the highway.

Referring to no conspiracy against the government, Noor said that a committee has been constituted for the quota. This is a farce with the student community of Bengal. After the clear announcement to the Prime Minister, there is no need for a committee to issue the notification. The committee can make for minor ethnic groups. We are not trying to ban the government. We collaborate with the development of the government. Because of this we have given time and again.

Joint convener Rashed Khan said, those who led the movement among us and took part in attacks on them and their families. The terrorists of Chittagong are attacking the innocent parents of Jusim Uddin, the joint convener of our central committee, only because of this movement. What did we blame? We have a movement on logical demand. What will be harassed for us? He demanded to bring these terrorists to justice and bring them under trial.

Earlier on Wednesday (09th May), human chain program was organized in TSC for the same demand. On Thursday (May 10th), if the quota cancellation was not announced then on Sunday (May 13th), every college-university movement warned the movement of Hasan Al Mamun.

Before that on Tuesday (May 08th) at 11pm, Rashid Khan, joint convener of the Bangladesh General Student Rights Protection Council, announced the program, "The plot started with the student community has started." We want to say that the student community will not accept any conspiracy. You (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) calm down the student community by issuing a quick notification. They are angry now. Otherwise they will come down again on the highway. Our movement is completely peaceful and nonviolent. The movement that will continue to be peaceful will also be peaceful. We believe in the spirit of non-violence movement of Bangabandhu.

At present, the freedom fighters quota 30 percent, female quota 10 percent, small ethnic group 5 percent, field wise district quota 10 percent and disability quota 1 percent.
