what is the preferred way Hivers chat ?

Hi everyone,
I am (still) new here and trying to figure out the best way to directly communicate with other members.
I see that there was a "Hive Chat" but it seems no longer available.
Having to go to another social network to chat, does not make much sense to me.
what are the existing options used by you people to tackle that ?
which is your favorite ? and why ?
