Greetings everyone! Today I’m going to start with the first post in a new series about my best tips for making the most out of Steem / Steemit. As you are all aware, I generally write about science and nature, but lately I have noticed that many of my followers are very new users. For this reason I wanted to write a few post in a new non-science series where I share my best tips and tricks with you guys, and hopefully you can all earn some more money on this platform.
If you don’t care for this type of content, but just want to read my science content, that’s fine! Just ignore these and wait a little longer. I will keep posting a new biology or ecology post every day, and these Steem tip posts are just added bonuses. So close this post if you don’t care about or need to learn more about Steem(it), and we’ll talk later instead.
Joining @qurator and get paid for every new post you make
all members get an upvote when they create a new post, but limited to one every 24 hours.Not many people have heard of the @qurator guild, so I hope to spread the word with this post. What it basically is, is a guild that curate quality posts made by its members. It will find 5 post every day that will be featured in a daily post, as well as one post every day that will get resteemed. However, the best part is that
The daily upvote is currently worth between $0.23 for tier 0 members, and $2.10 for tier 5 members, and somewhere in between for the rest of them. To go to a higher tier you need to delegate Steem Power, but any member can actually get to tier 2 without delegating anything, giving them $0.93 upvotes for all their posts! Keep in mind that these values changes all the time, and depends on @qurator’s Steem Power, as well as their Voting Power.
How to become a member of the @qurator guild
If you want to become a member, you need to send 2 Steem or 2 SBD to @qurator with your username in the memo field. It might seem a bit expensive, but I am sure most of you who have been leaving comments on my posts have at least 2SBD by now! When this is done the @qurator moderator team will review your account to see if your posts are of high enough quality, and will either accept you as a member, or deny you (but give you a refund).

Requirements
As of right now the requirements are that your account must be two weeks old, and have a minimum of 10 posts. This is the minimum, but you also need good content, or else you will be denied. You can read the entire review process in the link above, but to sum it up you need high quality, original content that is legal, as well as image sources if you didn't photograph it yourself.
Don’t forget to upgrade from tier 0 to tier 2
check out this post about tiers.As mentioned above, there are different tier ranks for the @qurator members, and all members are actually tier 0 by default. This if fine, but the upvotes for this group is very low. However, anyone can upgrade to get to tier 2 without much effort, and all you need to do is upvote @qurator’s post 7+ times each week. This will get you into tier 2, and you roughly $1 upvotes on each daily post you make! For more detail,

I wrote this post because I have been a member for a long time, and have even delegated some Steem Power to the project to get me to tier 5. This nets me pretty nice upvotes every 24 hours, and for someone who posts daily this is a lot of money! I estimated that I earned back the 2 Steem/SBD registration fee a long time ago, so it’s totally worth the investment in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for this, I've been trying to figure out how to get more exposure since I've started. I notice you had the stemstem tag and I looked into that and your busy tag because I wasn't sure what they were, but I feel that I put a good effort into posts. I feel that if I just keep my sources straight and cite my work I could probably qualify. Thanks a lot!

#steemstem is used to get my work noticed by the @steemstem team; a group that focuses on promoting scientific content on Steem(it). #busy is to get an upvote from http://busy.org/ because I use that site to blog from instead of Steemit (it has a much better layout in my opinion).
I am pretty sure your content is good enough to be accepted as a member of @qurator, but they might be asking you to start crediting your image sources :)

Is it acceptable to use google search images so long as I mention the author?
here.It all depends on the image I suppose. Some people allow their work to be used with credits, while most images cost money to use on a website, and especially when the post is for-profit. You can read more about what @qurator thinks of the case

I must say, this is the greatest initiative by you. Keep continuing this non-science series for sake of us. We all newbies really needs such tips as we most of writing original contents. As I'm a food blogger and photographer so I usually shared such posts to earn a little from steemit.
Now, the site you introduced is really outstanding. I would love to join this one right now. The information about this site is really worth reading. Thanks for acting like a Google. ;) At least I won't go to web to find out more info about this site.

@valth you are really building a community which you mentioned in one of your previous post "Why I’m spending most of my voting power on rewarding people". Your are doing it in a most practical way. I like your attitude. At one side you are educating your followers and at the same time you are conscious about newbies followers. Thanks for sharing info about @quartor It will be beneficial for us.

Well, I think we all need to do our best for the platform if we want to see it grow and succeed. If no one votes for the minnows, we will end up with a platform where only the rich upvotes each other, and that is no fun for anyone.
Exactly. To make this platform number 1, collective effort is required. It's only possible by encouraging quality contents.
I completely agree with that, @kamchore :) This is why @qurator and other guilds/members who only upvote quality content is very good for the platform as a whole.

These kind of guilds/initiatives can be genuinely helpful to the creators of quality contents. And thanks for the @qurator information, I am sure many will benefit from this...
Yeah, projects like @qurator is really nice for new members who create good content. They don't care if you got 10,000 followers or only 10, and upvote everyone the same. And the same goes for when you want to get into higher tiers; it does not matter if you upvote their posts with $1 per upvote or 2 cents per upvote, everyone needs the same amount of upvotes to get into tier 2 :)

Så lenge du upvoter 7+ av postene deres hver uke (trenger ikke å være 100 %), så er jeg rimelig sikker på at det lønner seg veldig raskt. Selv har jeg satt på autovote til dem, så jeg kan godt nesten bare glemme hele prosjektet, men likevel få få et dollar upvotes hver dag. Absolutt den beste guilden jeg har vært medlem av her inne :)
Men må du være "medlem" hos de først? Altså betale inn 2 før det er poeng i å upvote de?
En annen ting, hvordan kan du sette autovote slik du beskriver?
Ja, det må man være. Så det er ikke noe vits i å stemme opp før etter at man har blitt godkjent nei.
For å stemme automatisk bruker jeg steemauto.com, men det er sikkert flere andre alternativer også. Der inne må man i alle fall lage en konto, gå til fanen "Fan Base" og legge til de man ønsker å stemme på automatisk. Det er veldig kjekt hvis man har noen faste man alltid stemmer på :)

Hi valth.. Thanx for this support for newbies.. You thought right that we needtips to move in steemit.. I ll be really happy if you continue this withyour science posts.. Last few days i am facing bandwidth limit exceed and today my account is sonehow with better bandwidth..so just bought some sp.. I ll do it as i had 2sbd in my account.. Hope tomorrow or day after tomorrow.. I joined in december and excitedly work here but dnt knw that it ll cause this bandwidth problemm..
Hi, @biyanoor, and thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you like the Steem tips. Bandwidth can be a big problem for new users, but luckily you will get rid of the problem once you have even more Steem Power. It takes a while, but you have a little more to play around with each time you Power Up ;)
