I've heard and seen "Black lives matters!" so often that I can't tell anymore what people think they're saying.
Black live matters! , a slogan I suspect originated with a sarcastic note to mean "at least" matters is being repeated ad-nauseaum like a tired meme.
Assuming that people of a certain skin color might simply not matter is racist to such an extreme that it can only be understood as sarcasm.
When things get repeated out of context they're likely to be remembered by many for their literal meaning.
Anti-racism protesters should try getting more creative or the overused BLM slogan risk conditioning some into eternal victimhood.
When dealing with complex situation of inequality, popularizing a scandalous new term isn't helping to reach balance in the long run.
It makes me think of when I hear the word "feminism" I can't help but hear "pro-woman" while it means "equality between sexes sprinkled with an arbitrary amount of retribution". Eternal victimhood or catchy remains of sarcasm?
All lives matter, underlining one race implies the other races don't matter, which is racist by itself. There's injustice affecting all peoples around the world, whether it's caused by wars with false pretexts, or lingering sectarian/tribal/cultural conflicts spanning decades or even centuries. The fight for equality and justice for ALL should be inclusive, not divisive.
I really don't like it when someone uses the victim card.
All Hives matter
People love to be the victim, as it means that they have an excuse for why they can't improve themselves, their conditions or their world.
Racist!!!! ;) kidding!
I think the main problem is that BLM stands for many different things it is open to interpretation. Good people who are just seeking justice and reform can use it while at the same time bad people who just want to cause trouble and burn down the world can also use it. Mixing peace seekers and rioters into the same "protest" essentially turns the peacefull people's message into rioting. Then since all people see is the bad stuff happening all BLM becomes "about riots".
The joys of having a semi decentralized structure! BLM probably has more peaceful protesters in it than rioters. I haven't tried to delve into the numbers though so I could be wrong.
