Pirate Radio

Big thanks and much love to all those who joined us on Pirate Radio air waves for another installment of Copes Corner Pirate Radio Request line. We began with just a few in the audience and a small set list, but soon the music began flowing and the requests started coming in hard and fast. the list beefed up quite well being a good mix of songs I had lined up and requests from the great audience.

Earlier in the day on The Dancing Dreamers Show on MSP Waves Radio DJ Damashii was talking about frequency and the effect of music on people, their moods thoughts and feelings. This concept has been part of what we try and do on the Copes Corner Pirate Radio Request Line, where you all get to choose a good chunk of the music and we have a listen and chat about it, among other things, in the chats space.

Every now and again i would elaborate on what one of the tracks on my play list meant to me, the impact it had on life at the time and its relevance in what it did to shape my consciousness. Music has the ability to give us total recall of a long lost memory, to explain what we are feeling beyond words, to bring us up when we are down, and so much more. While this may happen to many of us , and quite often in some cases, it can become something seen as ordinary, the impact of music on our conscious state can be incredible. as the video below exemplifies

But back to the show, We had quite a few styles of music coming through rock, grunge, post grunge , classic rock, 80s pop, alt pop, hip hop, modern rap, chill, electronic, metal, Steemit musicians and yes even a russian pop cover song !!!!

We had many of our regulars pop in their requests for the evening @rockchickjen provided a some great metal screamy kinda vibes , @gray00 hit us up with some of the gangsta vibe that let us down the pop and synth path for the evening, @amberyooper kept us real with the old school vibe, @clayboyn and @soundwavesphoton provide some great electronic beats and of course no interaction with Swoop would be complete without a hit of Wicked Game and the mandatory pic that goes with it ;) Even @r0nd0n sent few a few requests and while his tracks are a bit like playing Russian roulette at times, much love mang, they fit in quite well with the great mix of music being showcased on the night. And @road2nowhere finally got their wish granted with some Nickelback being played, a request which was soon in regret once it came to fruition, lol.

We also had a number of newcomers to the Copes Corner Pirate Radio Request Line getin a feel for what we all about, and a few strong silent types chillin like villan's in chat yes im talking to you @vladivostok, lolz. however i was most impressed with one of the requests put forward by @ankapolo, this was an original track and hidden gem by our very own steemit champion of champions @meno this track was entitled hold your hand in mine and definitely recommend clicking the link and having a listen.

The vastness in the variety of the tracks on display is one of the things i love about being part of this community, it is why i enjoy playing your tracks on these shows, so we can share our music, what moves us and what these great tracks mean to us. No matter the kind of music (yes even Yoko), i will play it for you, they are all frequencies which can influence our thoughts, feelings and flow. They impact us, and i wanna know how, i wanna know why, so make a list that moves you and come along for a ride.

Again many thanks to all who joined us and chilled out with us. much love in all your directions.
