Would I approach my Steemitjourney in a different way?
It has been almost 18 month since I joined Steemit. I had my ups and downs here and in the next 18 months I will have more ups and downs.
There were sooo many posts about how to get follower, how to get upvotes or how to do anything.
I wrote some of those myself despite not being this successful. In fact many of those guides were written by Steemians which were not this successful.
I am not sure if they are not around anymore or if I got so bored of them my brain is blocking them but I dont see them anymore.
Anyways...don`t understand this as a guide to quick success and big $ here on Steemit. I am not the right person to ask those questions.
This is more myself rambling a bit about the times I enjoyed Steemit the most.
Yes the seemingly long long ago!
People were discussing if it is ok to self vote comments.
Randowhale was the only bot I knew of.
Communites were just around the corner ;-)
But somehow it felt more like a community. Maybe it was...
But actually I think I changed. I got lazy. Steemit is and in my opinion will always be a place where engagment and not only your content will be important.
Don`t get me wrong. Your content will always be important and is the door opener ( at least for most ) why people want to talk to you in the first place somewhat like a business card.
As I said, I got lazy and did not read or comment so much on other Steemians posts.
Commenting is not just, a form of apprication, it is also a form of showing that you are here as well. An advertising for yourself if you want. I assume we all know I don`t talk about the "nice post" comments.
Good stuff
The bulls were running and I was not concerned how I will pay for food, shelter, training or my visa. If you were holding any crypto your portfolio was just going up.
With that I was not this concerned about the number next to pending payouts but of course I enjoyed it when it was higher.
Steem was a late mover in the bullrun but it moved and even when it was at 3$ or the SBD went crazy everyone had some good earnings and therefore was in a good mood.
Now everything corrected so much ( for now ) it almost seemed the goose with the golden eggs got stolen.
We are all here to have a good time and earn some Steem, BTC, $ or whatever floats your boat but I am not sure if I was less focused on it or that I am a bit frustrated because I am not doing as well as before.
I was more active on the steem chat. I was talking to many Steemians off the chain.
I am still in some discords channels but rarely active. But back then it feeled like a tribe of people just having fun.
Everything was still new and exciting. Not only on Steemit but also my personal life.
I just moved to Thailand. I had so much to share which excited me.
Now it seems a bit like "Oh a pretty sunset on the beach, meeh saw it like a thousand times already".
Maybe Flipstar got too comfortable sums it up quite well....
I believe if I feel I am in a rut, it is my job to get me out of there again. Have done it before, was not easy but rewarding and probably I will have to do it in the future as well.
Anyway...
I will experiment with that dclick thing a bit, if you want to do me a favor just give it a click.
Nice post! 😂
Lol jokes bro, for real I enjoyed the read. Sabai sabai is a tragically contagious mindset here in Thailand eh? Though I don't think it's that, I too got super distracted from Steem, the platform and from posting here.
I even let my community down by my lack of engagement and I'm facing that right now as we speak yikes. Though it was not for lack of trying, I just feel this bear market hit us all so much harder than we imagined.
Many of us are not spring chicks in the crypto game and I've hodled through many ups and downs over the years. Though what's different this time and perhaps the same for you is that as the years went on we became more reliant on the crypto-gains and drifted further from fiat.. for me anyway it turned out to be unsustainable.
I took a huge leap of faith and like a bad parkour fail didn't make the gap! It felt so close to living full-time on blogging and then boom, the golden goose did indeed get taken.
I've been back "in the matrix" for months and it's very grey here LOL. Oh and btw loved the American psycho reference. Classy 👌
We will get our goose again and then we will be a bit smarter about it.
The ride has to be enjoayable though and at the moment it is soo much for me but I shall change that again.
Hope to see you around more often though.
You still stream?
No haven't been, I was gearing up to start on @dlive and then.. well we all know.
Yes the ups and downs are sure fun and challenging at the same time. For sure will keep an eye out for you man, I'm committing to get my posts going again and building momentum for 2019 year of mass adoption lol! 💪
Also looking into the dclicked thing, nice one bro!
Keep them coming :-)
Dclicked ya. Lol funny name.. 🍆
Yes try again it will success
Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3
Much of the experience from this post i did myself too. I really whish content would metter more ...and would be curated without the need off enything than good content!
I am a guy who just like to wrote a comment when i have to say someting, not just hello im here...but this is not enough on steemit. Like you said Comunity work is so important...
I think it is fine that not only content is important. But what you do and how you behave with the community.
I think it is not in balance atm as how much SP you have pretty much determines the value of your post as well...I dont know either. I try just to enjoy the ride a bit more then I do atm
I remember those times as well. feels like it was yesterday. we started about the same time and it feels like i´m on here since years. so many things have changed on this platform.
It´s definitely time for the steem price to go up again. I´m posting here anyway but it would feel so good if I would earn something with these postings again.
anyway, I gave it a click...although I don´t know what it is good for! 😂
Will check that later
Thank you :-)
Maybe try it yourself maybe this could be a nice monetary boost and also bring motivation back to not get only votes but real engagment as people have to open your post.
Take a look for sure
wow just had read. sounds interesting. should have made my newest post via dclick! hmmm...too late! Next Time!
I am sure it will still be there for your next post :-)
And you have at least one click for sure :-)
dclicked & voted~
thank you
I think that there is a bit fault in fact that on the Steemit we have incomes instead of likes. On Facebook, Instagram or any other social media, people do not dramatize so much about the quantity of likes and they are not leaving the platform because of the low numbers generated by them. I haven't heard about any friend who left Facebook because his newest photo didn't reach 50 likes, but I heard plenty of stories about broken ambitions and abandoning Steemit because of insufficient incomes.
Well I think that is Steemit biggest selling point and the biggest reason why many of us are here.
You can be sad about that you only get pennies, be thankful as it is still way more than you get at facebook etc or/and work harder, smarter to grow further.
This is also true. We should to be thankful for this monetizing system instead of being jealous or angry that our outcomes are not making insufficient profits
But you know, people are people, they will always complain
I can understand that and I dont say it is perfect here but afaik it is the best we got so far.
I haven't posted anything worth while in awhile.
But I'm still here commenting and supporting the communities that I'm loving. When the bull market and a hard fork hits ya. You tend to see who the real community is. So that's a good thing.
As well as cats doing laundry.
Love that cat. Could use one right now as I really have to do laundry soon.
Maybe I will go into this direction for a while as well....probably not but maybe
As long as you stay everything is gonna be allrigt
dclick and vote
thank you
Brought me back to the good ole days where we just had randowhale 😂😂😂
Posted using Partiko iOS
miss that as well a bit
Many are a little depressed about Steemit, apart from the low price is also the issue with the bots, another problem is that the good content does not receive anything, the great whales and dolphins practically use their 10 votes to vote among themselves and the rest of small fish are left adrift.
They must do something so that Steemit again has that flare of passion that he had before, because if he continues like this... many will go to the copies or the competition. 😢
What competition? The copies will face the same problems I assume.
I dont think it is only the whales and dolphins fault. The ones I follow are upvoting quite a lot of people.
I don't think the moderated copies will have the same problems. Here we have been totally cut loose and the worst and best of human nature are free to show themselves. On moderated platforms, the "worst" will get cut out. Having said all that... humans being gullible and all might not even recognize those that fall into the "worst" category as we can see by who get elected into political positions of governance in so-called free countries.
When I say competence, I mean the copies, yes, I might have the same problems unless they do not let the plague of the bots advance ... I know there are those who still vote but I also know that there are many who only do it among themselves, there are even some who have seen that of the 10 votes a day they only use 5 or 6 votes and the other 4 because they do not share it?
I clarify that... everyone does what they want with their votes... after all they do not have a contract with anyone to vote, but what I say is that if you benefit from the platform, the good thing would be to support it.
You may enjoy my comment to flipstar's response to your previous comment.
I need to step my game up again! What’s a better time the now 😎
Yesterday!
But you doing fine...I feel from grace somehow though but my own fault
