That forest is at the foot all of a mountain where Animal Friends Niigata Animal shelter once was - can't remember the name of the area. But it was all open fields and mountains near by...
I miss Niigata-eki downtown area, getting buzzed on sake there every night and hooking up with females :D I'm married now, that's history lol.
