The attitude is saddening. I'm not sure if most Steemians realize how difficult it is to make even $10 of a self-hosted blog, starting it all from scratch. Not even taking in account that they need to pay for their URL and also hosting.
Yet, here on Steem they have active curation teams, browsing most popular tags and rewarding great content (let's be honest ok content) with what can be converted to effective financial rewards.
Many people would take 12-18 months to make a monthly $10 average with their site, which pretty much only covers their hosting bill.
If, of course, they haven't thrown in the towel long before after realizing how difficult it is to get traffic, followers, and thus also clicks on ads.
