RE: [Nomad rants] - The Generation of Participation Awards | How Entitlement reached Steemit

in #rant7 years ago

That's why it is called competition. Winner takes all. We gotta keep on trying until we make it. When we win, we will never whine about why others didn't get the attention they needed. However, when things turned bad for us, we will start complaining.

Right to highlight the entitlement mindset there. Outside the real world is as 'cruel' as on Steemit too. Resources are always limited and we can't just do charity and help everyone.

Exactly, i´ve seen some people complain with me telling me "but that person has SP, he should be voting on my posts" and my response is always the same, "he shouldn´t do anything, you can try and get his attention or engage with him and then he might vote on you". Some people believe that just by posting a photo of their breakfast they are entitled to a $20 post :/

I like that, that definition of competition. Thanks for commenting pal.

haha, $20... quite impossible unless you build your audience or the system that support that reward seriously.

No prob pal :)

Oh, Yes! That's what some people think. "Some people believe that just by posting a photo of their breakfast they are entitled to a $20 post ". They see how someone has already received their money this way and take such an example of easy earnings. I think this way stretches from other social networks like a loop. When people post selfies on each of their actions and get a bunch of likes. They think that this model works here too and are offended - when it doesn't happen. Many people need to understand that our platform is something completely different. It takes time to understand. Someone just go away, but will those who by their persistence and desire will go further.
