While I personally feel the death penalty isn't warranted in any situation, who are we to judge the internal politics of KSA.

If you feel like there is injustice, let's pressure our own governments to break ties with these barbaric practices.
There's no way in hell that we can change a foreign government's local laws. Even if the citizen is one of our own.

Here are some rules if you are in a foreign country:

  1. Your government can't help that much.
  2. If they can't, they'll plead for leniency.
  3. Don't break freaking laws in other countries. Nor any laws in your own.
  4. Don't complain after being caught for breaking laws.

In this situation, the media is trying to rile up anger from the public. The man in question broke laws. It says he was "accused" of the crimes. We don't know how it played out in court. Frankly, it's not valid now because of the outcome.

In all seriousness, we need to pressure our governments to stop supporting these regimes. Call out any politician campaigning for Saudi companies in our own. We need to make sure no one gets the benefits of our beautiful country (as imperfect as Canada is, it's a tolerant and well educated nation)

Done.
