Hi,
Here is my chit chat/rant about salary.
So I am working in a bank. Reconciliation team.
I took over from a nice guy, who has moved to another role within the bank.
My job scope was the same as his and I did my daily work like he did.
So recently I found out about his salary when he was in this role. $xxxx. That was when I realized I am only earning 64% of what he got. I asked myself, why am I getting paid so much lesser when I am doing the same work he did. Sure, he has more working experience (It was not related though). But was my work of a lower standard? Was my reconciliation less useful than his? Was my work less timely?
I have nothing against him, maybe a little something against the firm.
The only explanation that I could give myself to keep me going is that "the company realized he was overpaid".
How about you? What do you think?
Cheers,
