Rap Challenge Week #15 Submission

My last minute entry to the Week #15 ADSactly Records Rap Challenge

I tried to make it about the time I was held hostage in Japan, but it turned into a bit of a thank you note to the kindred spirit that helped me out after the whole hostage situation. Sadly, I've forgotten his name due to (partially successful) attempts at suppressing the entire trip from memory.

but this is new to me,
didn't know to go that far

my first time on stage
i was only eight
thought i'd be great
til my mind went blank

but the damage was done

i had to pay my own ransom
a price that was handsome
but it was all that i had
my options were bad

i was homeless for two weeks
i slept on a bar seat
the language, i couldn't speak
every day, i'd barely eat

until one day, someone pitied me
tall dude, kinda looked like me
and the sickest rapper i'd ever seen

switched languages like it was nothing
spit bars like it was just breathing
also, he fed me...

took me to a barbecue with friends and family
spicy southern style, they were US military
got the biggest plate of meat i'd probably ever seen
wolfed it down in minutes and then licked the plate clean

i'm eternally grateful for the kindness that he gave
and it makes me really sad that i can't recall his name
