This self-guided safari through the desert of Cholistan offers a chance to view a variety of wildlife. With special permission, one can also go hunting for wildcats, Chinkara deer, a variety of pigs or jackals.
Visit Bhong Mosque
Located approximately 40km from the city, is the Bhong Mosque. This mosque considered as the most beautiful mosque in the country. It was constructed by Rias Ghazi Muhammad and has many beautiful designs as well as many marble stones. This mosque, with its array of chandeliers is a work of architecture.
Visit Pattan Minara
This ancient lighthouse is located on the bank of the river Hakra or Ghagra. Although most of the lighthouse is in ruin, the tower still stands. It is said to have remains of a monastery. Also nearby are a tunnel and the remains of an old fort. Colonel Minchin began excavating the tunnels more than 100 years ago but discontinued it for some unknown reason. Fazal Halani destroyed it in the 18th century and used the materials to construct two forts.

Many saints are buried within the main district of the city and visiting these mausoleums is a unique experience. The buildings themselves have so much architectural character and it is definitely a must-do while you here.
Enjoy Walking through the Garden of Heaven
This beautiful garden was built by Meer Syed Abid Hussain, Esq. After his death, his son Meer Syed Abid Hussain, Esq. reconstructed it back to its former beauty. It sits on over 75 acres of land outside of SABIQ Abad. Although this garden is a privately owned garden, it is open to the public on certain days.
Explore the Palace of the Sultan of Abu Dhabi
Constructed under the rule of Zayad Bin Sultan, the Sheikh who also ruled Abu Dhabi, the palace is located in the Cholistan Desert about 18k.m. southeast of the main city. Beautiful manicured lawns and beautiful flower gardens can be seen there. Domestic birds, such as peacocks and Cuckoos can also be found there. When the ruler of the Abu Dhabi used to visit the state, the rulers used to stay in the palace.
