my library!

Is it too early for Christmas music?
I'm going to tell you, I am listening to "Let It Snow" by Kacey Musgraves and I have a fir tree candle burning and there isn't much missing from my life right now.

I have wine, Christmas music, and tomorrow I am beginning a little project that I never finished in my old place.

I suppose back story is needed.

So all my life ... my favorite thing in the whole world.... BOOKS. I am a bibliophile. I love the emotions, descriptions of the human experience that are trapped in the pages.... I always want to write novels and then as I write them I feel that I wane in comparison to the greats and why should I try to do something they've already done so well?

My favorite thing to do is go to the bookstore and just lose myself for hours.... picking up each book and flipping through the pages and reading their descriptions... and then I can never decide on just one so I buy 6 or 7... and I take them home and they're like these little treasures. This author, this person, experienced life to the point where he or she had to write it down... they had to explain their story to other people, share their feelings via the pages of their novels... every author writes what they know. I find such comfort in the things that other people in the world have put into words in their books.... I know I'm not alone. Occasionally they move me to tears... move me to the point where I change the way I think or say or do things... I see their characters alive in the people around me...

I guess the written word provides me some great comfort in the midst of the chaos and strife of life... like there are people who have sat back and observed the same human experience that I see and feel... a bunch of empaths, empathing all over each other...

When I am around books, there's this sensation... a certain peaceful melancholy that comes over me and I could just sit in reverence of the stories that surround me.... they are true works of art. Works of defiance against society and government.
My god....

Anyway, I have always wanted a personal library. Ideally one day I want one of those track ladders that I could ride through my library like Belle in Beauty and the Beast.... but that's years away.

I'm settling for setting up themed bookshelves on the large walls of my apartment living room. I am just going to collect a whole bunch of mismatched, odd shelves and put all my books all over them.... the classics, horror, Poe, modern, poets, juvenile fiction greats, the HP series... I want them all....

I lost so much last year. I had probably 8 or 9 boxes of books in my storage shed... I let them go. Lost them. However you want to look at it.
I had started this personal library project at my old apartment. I had 5 bookshelves hung about my living room with my favorite books displayed all around me... all of them are gone.

But starting over is going to be the best part.
